End of year Gala Concert
Each class works towards performing an item at our end of year concert every year, which is held in front of sell-out crowds at the Boonah Cultural Centre.
Our students spend hours rehearsing, choreographing and mastering their class items. Students also perform in separate groups and in different year levels.
The concert is supported by a Concert Committee made up of parents, caregivers, and members of the community, who create all the wonderful costumes and props. The concert is an inclusive, full school event which has quickly become a favourite with the entire community.
Boonah State School Band
The Instrumental Band rehearses Thursdays at 8am, with our Instrumental Music teacher Mr. Simon Francis.
We have been successful at Band Fanfare and Rural Schools Band festivals in past years and perform at local events. Boonah State School is the only state school in the region with an instrumental band program.
Boonah State School Choir
The Choir rehearses Tuesdays at 8am. So far in previous years, our choir has performed at Anzac Day, the Boonah Show, Seniors Week: Boonah to Broadway. Sing Fest massed choir and workshop and our end of year concert to name a few.
Visiting Performance Groups
Our students also get the opportunity to be an audience. We have a number of groups come and visit and perform for our students, such as the Boonah High School band, the Pipe & Drums band last year, the Arts council drumming group.
